San Fernando Valley is home to plenty of great bars, that you can go and enjoy some quality time with family and friends. Whether you are looking for a chill place to relax or lively spot to dance the night away, each has their unique style and vibe. I have been in many of these small and cozy spot personally and loved the environment, the different flavors of food and of course most importantly the variety of nice cocktails and draft beer each place has to offer. Let's see my top 5 spots I personally chose.

Idle Hour 

Idle Hour is one for the books! Shaped like a whiskey-barrel, this bar is definitely an eye-catcher. Idle Hour resembled a whiskey barrel to lure thirsty workers on their “idle hour,” hence the name. It’s a very fun and vintage speakeasy with a delicious menu of pub grub. I’ll raise a glass for refurbishing a Los Angeles landmark! Their cocktail menu is a MUST to try, especially “Mister President.” I’d highly recommend waking up for their Drag Brunch every month. It’s wacky, wild and a ton of fun in the barrel. 

The Local Peasant 

The Local Peasant is a perfect place to grab dinner and a drink with friends or a casual date night. There is a wide range of drinks including craft beer, mixed exotic drinks and a nice selection of wine. The most exciting part about this place is the fact that they serves Mac and Cheese with truffle! The Local Peasant is very pleasing with its easy-going ambiance, great service and delicious food and drinks. Go check it out for yourself.

The Rendition Room 

This speakeasy is a one of a kind experience that you definitely have to try out. Nested away inside the Vitello's restaurant, it makes you feel as if you are in a 1930s atmosphere, complete with a retro jukebox! This is the perfect spot for a romantic evening or an unforgettable hangout with delicious cocktails and diverse menu. The fact that they serve food from the adjoining Italian restaurant, Vitello’s, feels like it's just an added bonus. The Rendition Room is a much-needed addition to the speakeasy sub-culture in Los Angeles and is definitely a unique experience.

​​​​Oaks Tavern 

What’s not to love about the Oaks Tavern? It’s one of the best bars in town! They have awesome beer and alcohol selection. If you want to sing your heart out, this is definitely the best place, as it’s the best karaoke bar. Karaoke is available every night and is ALWAYS a blast. The outdoor seating area is warm and toasty. The waiters are friendly and they sure know their beer! This little gem in the valley is great! This is an amazing bar with live acoustic music, great beer and great people!

District Pub NOHO 

District Pub, located in NOHO, is a very lovely venue. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. The Big Boy burger might be my favorite burger in town! There's an outside seating area and the back of the bar has plenty of seats. You can come here with any group, big or small. It’s definitely an amazing experience. District Pub offers great service, intimate vibes and unique black & white films playing in the background. Great spot to get your 24 craft beers on tap along with wine and a full collection of alcohol and of course their exotic sausage with home made dipping sauces on!

Well there is enough said about my favorite bars in San Fernando Valley. It is time to go and enjoy some delicious food, exotic alcohol selections and those crafted beers. Don't forget to karaoke and enjoy life to the fullest.
